House rejects Net neutrality rules

Cnet has a story discussing the impact of the house's rejection of net neutrality rules. Effectively, the outcome is that an ISP will be able to throttle the bandwidth it provides to various sites (and presumably services) at their discression. The general fear is that high bandwidth sites (google et all) could be hampered or taxed. While I'm not a big fan of the government poking it's nose into everyone's business, there is something to be said of them doing something to protect the general public from loosing acccess to valuable resources.
